R.I.P. Marius, the 'surplus' giraffe

A healthy, young giraffe was killed at the Copenhagen Zoo because officials there, who had bred him, decided they had enough of his particular genes. He was 'surplus." The entire affair reeks of arrogance and disregard for life. It will ultimately be the downfall of humans.
